BETHUNE - Funeral service for Sarah Watkins “Sallie” Brown, 78, will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Robert Howell and Rev. Barbara Seegars will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brown died Sunday, March 23, 2008. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Lee and Moise Pate Watkins. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Davis Ray Brown Sr.; sons, Davis Ray Brown Jr. of Lexington, Marvin Lee Brown (Myra) of Bethune, and Dianne Brown McAlpin (Dan) of Magee, Miss.; brother, Dr. Curtis Watkins of Camden; sisters, Doris Kelley of Bishopville, Emily Best of Camden, and Ruth Davidson of Cheraw; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Marvin and Ben Watkins.
