BAKERSVILLE, NC – Funeral service to celebrate the life of Beth Rush Blackmon, 73, formerly of Camden, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Blackmon went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Born on September 5, 1939 in Camden, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William E. Rush Sr. and Ruth Huckabee Rush. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Camden and enjoyed her daily devotion readings. She lived a life of service to others and everyone she encountered was always moved by her loving presences. Beth’s ministry was to speak a blessing through a card during difficult times of her family and friends. Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband of 56 years, William L. “Bud” Blackmon; sons, Steve Blackmon of Port St. Lucie, FL and Scott Blackmon of Fairfax, VA; and a brother, Billy Rush, Jr. (Bobbi) of Camden.
