Obituary of David A. Hunter

CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of David Allen Hunter, 73, will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden. The Rev. Mary D’Alessio will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Mr. Hunter passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015. Born in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Perry and Florence McNeely Hunter. He retired from Fluor Daniel Construction and also Mundy Construction. He was a charter and active member of Beaver Creek Fire Department. Mr. Hunter was a member of Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church, Abney Lodge #211 and Camden Shrine Club. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, boating, cooking barbeque, and was an avid Gamecock fan. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Donna M. Hunter; daughter, Charlene A. Hunter of Lancaster; son, Duane A. Hunter (Tonia Brown) of Kershaw; step-daughter, Tracy M. Hice of Fayetteville, TN; sisters, Ollie Robinson, Bernice Branham, and Bobbie Bowers; grandchildren, Chase, Amber and Dillon; and a great-grandchild, Brylee. He was predeceased by brothers, Steve Hunter, George Hunter, and Charles Hunter; sisters, Molly Hunter, Ruth Carnes, and Mary Alice Funderburk; and many favorite nieces and nephews.
