Obituary of William Fields Mozingo

CAMDEN – A memorial service for William Fields Mozingo, 89, will be held Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Camden. A private burial will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Camden, Building Fund. Mr. Mozingo passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015. Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late James Bethea and Attie Mae Fields Mozingo. Mr. Mozingo was the former owner of J.R. Embroidery, and a member of First Baptist Church, Camden, where he enjoyed serving as a greeter. He served in the U.S. Naval Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post 17. He enjoyed gardening and golf. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Sandra Kennington Mozingo; daughters, Pamela Wilson (Frank) of Midlothian, VA, Karon Forrest (Jimmy) of Camden; step-children, Doug Black (Wanda) of Cassatt, Angie Black of Camden; sister, Zelda Mahn of Conway; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Norma Harrison; and brothers, Eckels Mozingo, Pendleton Mozingo; and a sister Christine King.
