LUGOFF – A service to celebrate the life of Russell Edward Wright, 74, will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. John Hallman will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to South Carolina Oncology or Rowan Presbyterian Church or Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter. Mr. Wright passed away at home Thursday, January 1, 2015. Born in Marianna, Fla., he was the son of the late Robert Jason and Eloise Rister Wright. He served in the United States Air Force and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina. He was the former owner of Russell E. Wright CPA in Lugoff. Mr. Wright was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church and the Camden-Lugoff Elks Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Elma Orton Wright; son, Chip Wright of Lugoff; sister, Myra Hill (Wayne) of Florida; brother, Larry Wright of Florida; and granddaughter, Gabrielle Wright. He was predeceased by a son, Jason Wright; and brother, Gerald Wright.
