COLUMBIA – Sammie William “Billy” Carman, 64, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2014. Billy was born in Columbia, S.C. on April 27, 1950. He is a son of Minnie Grigg Carman of Columbia, S.C., and the late Sammie Marion Carman. He is survived by his sister, Gussie Carman Folk of Irmo, S.C.; brother, Marion Clayton Carman (Donna) of Elgin, S.C.; two nieces; two nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Carman was a member of Broad River Road Masons and Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday. December 30, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 734 Camp Ground Rd, Columbia, S.C. 29203. A memorial service, conducted by the Rev. John Jordan, will follow immediately. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at White Oak Manor, Columbia, S.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
