ELGIN – Graveside service for Caliph “Sam” Branham, 75, will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Dan Griffin will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1848 Longmont, CO 80502. Mr. Branham passed away at home on Friday, December 26, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Dewitt Talmage and Roxie Peake Branham. He served in the United States Army and retired from Whirlpool Corporation. He loved and valued spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Brenda Rimer Branham; son, Caliph “Bennie” Branham, Jr. (Sheila) of Elgin; grandchildren, GeorJanna Buff (Scott), Taylor Renee Branham, and Caliph Jay “C.J.” Branham; sister, Martha Branham Crumpton; brother, Gordon Truitt Branham (Mary); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Lila Branham Cooper and Clara Faile Branham; and brothers, J. Murdic Branham and William Talmage Branham.
