Obituary of Alfred E. Hutto

WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral service for Alfred Elbee Hutto, Jr., 78, will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Larry Jones and the Rev. Steve Sharpe will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Pentecostal Holiness Church or Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church or Agape Hospice. Mr. Hutto passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Born in Swansea, he was the son of the late Alfred Elbee Hutto Sr. and Ila Chavis Spires. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a Mason, Shriner and enjoyed building and working on furniture. Surviving are his children, Shelley Hutto Oliver (Bryce) of Gloucester, Va., Alex Brian Hutto (Meagan) of West Columbia and Ronald Corey of Columbia and Karla Corey Issac of Columbia; brothers, Bobby Hutto and Rembert Hutto; sisters, Ethel Martin and Betty Tinsley; and 10 grandchildren, Stephanie, Kelley, Tony, Dougie, Shelby, Chelsey, Bralyn, Chance, Michael and Mitchell. He was predeceased by brothers, J.C. Hutto, Nolan “Skeet” Hutto, and Tommy Hutto; and granddaughters, Priscilla and Rose.
