CAMDEN – Funeral service for Annie Ruth Young, 73, will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Keith Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to DeKalb Baptist Church, 2034 DeKalb School Road, Camden, SC 29020. Mrs. Young passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Born in Camden, She was the daughter of the late James and Iva Cook Branham. She retired from Baron DeKalb Elementary School where she was a Kindergarten Assistant for 28 years. She was a member of DeKalb Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to auctions, but caring for children was what she enjoyed most. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, John Richard Young; sons, Richard D. Young of Camden and John “Doug” Young of Camden; daughter, Crystal Copley (Chris) of Camden; sister, Betty Thompson; and grandchildren, Carrie Copley, Caleb Copley and Ryan Young. She was predeceased by sisters, Viola Moak and Katie Boone; and brothers, Curtis Branham, Henry Branham and Junior Branham.
