CASSATT – Funeral service for Charlie L. McLaughlin, 82, will be held on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Freedom Outreach Baptist Church with burial to follow in Cassatt Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Trent McLaughlin and the Rev. Robert Ridley will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Freedom Outreach Baptist Church, 1113 Hwy 1 North, Cassatt, S.C. 29032. Mr. McLaughlin passed away at home on Thursday, November 27, 2014. Born in Cassatt, he was the son of the late Steve Loranza and Emmie Alma Raley McLaughlin. He served in the United States Army and retired from DuPont. He was a member Freedom Outreach Baptist Church and enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Blanche Eleanor McNeely McLaughlin; daughters, Adele Truesdale of Cassatt and Melisa Truesdale of Heath Springs; son, Rev. Trent McLaughlin of Lancaster; sister, Ella Catherine Teal; brother, Steve McLaughlin; grandchildren, Shanna Fenchel, Charleigh Funderburk, Chas McLaughlin and Marlee McLaughlin; and great-grandchildren, Luke Funderburk, Jayce Funberburk and Harper Fenchel.
