Obituary of Josephine Brown

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Josephine Lee Brown, 75, will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Joshua Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Josephine was born on July 22, 1939 to the late Joe and Rosa Lee in Camden, S.C. She departed this life after a long battle of illness on November 21, 2014. Josephine was educated in the public school of Kershaw County. She was employed for a short time in New York City as a home attendant. She devoted and dedicated most of her life to being a wonderful wife and mother of three. She leaves her beloved husband, Arthur Brown Sr. of 56 years of marriage; her daughter, JoAnn Neadle (Robert) of Columbia, S.C.; her son, Arthur Brown Jr. of Largo, Md.; four granddaughters, Jazzmin Stevens of Bronx, NY, Nicole Duff of Clinton, Md., Jaleassa Stevens of Greensboro, N.C., and Tyler Brown of Norristown, Pa.; one grandson, Michael Oliver Jr.; two great-grandsons, Jahiem Turner of Camden, S.C. and Desmon Leach of Greensboro, N.C.; one brother, Elder Bennie Lee of Cassatt; seven Sisters, Lillie Johnson, Catherine Simon (Johnny), Sally Lee McGraw, Rebecca Cauthen (James), Rev. Shirley Lee Williams (Richard), Sara Leonard (Jack), and Delores Lee; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Wheeler (Jimmy) and Juanita Josey (Paul); one brother-in-law, George Green Jr.; one honorary daughter, Diahann Carol Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Connie Evette Duff; brothers, Edward Lee of Cassatt, Joe Lee Jr. of Cassatt, Douglas Lee Sr. (Kathy) of Cassatt and Wallace Lee (Dorothy); and one sister, Mary Furman (Raleigh).
