LUGOFF – Funeral service for Gregory Matheson Hailey, 41, will be held on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Flowers will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 311 East Main Street, Bennettsville, S.C. 29512 or a charity of one’s choice. Greg passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Born in Bennettsville, S.C., he was the son of Robert Edmond “Eddie” Hailey Sr. and Harriett Matheson Hailey. He was a licensed contractor and certified welder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching T.V. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Vickie Mattox Hailey; parents, Eddie and Harriett Hailey of North Myrtle Beach; sons, Mitchell Gregory Hailey and Michael Dalton Hailey; brother, Robert E. “Robin” Hailey Jr. (Christi); paternal grandmother, Betty Hailey Derrick; mother-in-law, Janice Mattox; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Deemie and Frances Matheson; paternal grandfathers, Oscar Derrick and Bobby Hailey; and father-in-law, Johnny Mattox.
