ELGIN – A celebration of life service for Irene Marcel Sawyer, 71, will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Blaney Baptist Church, in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, Nursery fund. Mrs. Sawyer, wife of the late Michael Wesley Sawyer, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Born in Moorhead, MN, she was a daughter of the late George and Ella Tang Owens. Mrs. Sawyer was a member of Blaney Baptist Church for over 35 years. She enjoyed reading and gardening. Surviving are her children, Bill Salter of Elbow Lake, MN, Sherry Heard (Derrick) of Blythewood, Jeffrey Salter (Deborah) of Melbourne, FL, Michael Salter (Stefanie) of Blythewood, Damon Sawyer (Linda) of Elgin; sisters, Bernice Moss, Mary Lou Boedekker (Tim); 12 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
