PONTIAC – Funeral service for Jean Jackson Delk, 80, will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Spears Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Greg Sweet will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made Spears Creek Baptist Church, 116 Spears Creek Lane, Elgin, S.C. 29045. Mrs. Delk passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Born in Whittier, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Jackson. She was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, George Dowling “Bubba” Delk; son, George A. Delk (Cathy) of Columbia; daughter, Sharon Jeffers (Jerry) of Elgin; sister, Beverly Newell; and grandchildren, Adam Delk, Aubrey Delk and Ashley Jeffers. She was predeceased by brothers, George Jackson and Russell Jackson; and sister, Mary Wilson.
