Obituary of Bill Lupton

Lexington – A service to celebrate the life of William “Bill” Quinn Lupton, 22, will be held on January 14, 2025 at 2 pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will leave Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff at 1:30 p.m. in an escorted procession.

Bill passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.  Born in West Columbia, he is the son of Theodore Nichols Lupton and Michelle Quinn Lupton.  He was a 2020 graduate of River Bluff High School where he played on the drum line in the marching band.  He was a devoted Boy Scout and earned the honor of Eagle Scout.  He was a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association.  Bill was an outdoors man who enjoyed fishing and camping, and loved children and animals.

At the time of his passing, Bill was a proud soldier in the United States Army where he was an Electronic Warfare Specialist in the Multi Functional Reconnaissance Company, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). His service included a deployment with the 101st Airborne Division to North Carolina as part of the Hurricane Helene humanitarian relief effort. Bill always loved helping people, so he was especially proud to be a part of this mission.

 

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Ted and Michelle Lupton of Lexington; sister, Claire Quinn Lupton of Lexington; and maternal grandparents, Philip Ronald Quinn and Myra Hollingworth Quinn.  He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, William Remington Nichols and Annette Lupton.
