Obituary of Debra Wescott

Lugoff – Funeral service for Debra Sue Wescott, 65, will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Centerville Cemetery.  The Rev. Barry Spears will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Wescott passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center.  Born in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Sandra Livergood Hornbuckle.  She loved being outdoors enjoying God’s creation and caring for animals.  A stray or wild animal knew they had a home when they came into the presence of Debra.  Watching the beauty of butterflies gave her great pleasure.  Debra was known for her generosity and helping others was her mission in life.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Frank Wescott; children, Robert Bradley of Lugoff, Daniel Bradley of Dothan, Ala., and Sandy Hogue (J.C.) of Elgin; step-children, James Wescott (Paula), Frankie Wescott (Amber), Tammie Wescott (Jeff Jeffcoat); granddaughter, Aubree Hogue; step-grandchildren, Jamie, Samantha, Brittany, Joshua, Kaden, Jacob, Donavan, Matthew, and Cheyenne; and step-great-grandchildren, Lauriana, heather, Amelia, John Lee, Kimberlee, Peyton, Bella, Xavier, Jason, David, Michael and Sarah.
