I am saddened to hear of Don’s passing this past week. My prayers and condolences to Yvonne, Dan and all the family. I am a cousin and will always remember Dons kindness and great sense of fun, especially as a child. He was my older cousin and I looked up to him I will hold my memories dear and hope you do too. Don was the heart and soul of our Wake Forest alumni group in Columbia. He made it a point to welcome new alumni to town. He watched Deacon teams in every sport when he had the opportunity whether in person or on TV with other alumni. Don knew a great number of people and had many friendships. He enjoyed discussing history and politics but could engage on almost any subject with an entertaining story from his past. He enjoyed reading and often passed on books he wanted to share. We are grateful for his enduring friendship for the past 36 years, and we send our heartfelt condolences to Yvonne, Dan, and the entire family in the loss of both Don and Cynthia these past few days.

Don was my lunch buddy when we could find time. We had a little spot on Decker Blvd. Called the Seoul Grocery Store. It was a grocery store but they have about 6 tables to accommodate a pretty busy lunch. Not too many people I know enjoy Korean Cuisine but Don was one of them. It’s not ever going to be the same. I will save a seat at my table because that’s what he would do.

Mr. Don Miller was a fantastic regular guest at the bar at Millpond Steakhouse. I always set up a place for him at the end of the bar. For the past 3 years I invited him to my birthday party and he was always there to have fun with my friends. My heart is heavy now but I know that he is happy to be with his wife, love is everlasting. Don makes me know that!
