LUGOFF- Dorothy H. Goodwin, loving call “Dee Dot,” 79, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born in Marietta, GA, she was a daughter of the late John Wilson Hicks, Jr. and Elizabeth Jordan Hicks. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Father’s House Ministries International where she served as the secretary. She enjoyed reading, fishing, cooking, talking with friends, spending time with family, and genealogy.


Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Brown (Tracey) of Elgin; son, Hamilton Kinard (Britnee) of Richmond Hill, GA; sister, Jane Hicks Braithwaite of West Columbia; brother, James Wilson Hicks (Joyce) of Hattiesburg, MS; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.


A memorial service for Dorothy Goodwin, 79, will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Father’s House Ministries International, 1150 Sessions Road, Elgin, S.C. 29045. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Father’s House Ministries International. The family is in charge of the arrangements.
