Kershaw – Funeral service for Betsy Key Brown, 65, will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at House of Prayer with Open Arms Church with burial to follow in Boonetown Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Barrett will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.

Mrs. Brown, wife of the late Elvin Eugene Brown, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at MUSC Columbia Medical Columbia Downtown. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph Key Jr. and Allie Bass Pierce. She enjoyed watching wrestling and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sons, Elvin E. Brown, Jr. (Wanda) of Cassatt and Joseph Shay Brown (Danielle) of Cassatt; sisters, Jenny Mock and Cheryl Atkins; brother, Mitchell Pierce; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother, Ernest Key; and sisters, Carolyn Key, Juanita Holly and Lillian Talbert.
