Obituary of Molly Smith Parker
Molly Smith Parker, 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Born on April 10, 1930, in Camden, SC, she was the daughter of Walter Milton and Lola Stewart Smith. She was a floral designer for Camden Florist for many years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Camden First Baptist in Camden, SC, for over 83 years where she also sang in the church’s choir and the Silvertones. She was a very talented lady, standing boldly in her faith and practicing what she preached. She enjoyed singing, dancing, playing the piano, sewing, gardening, traveling to the beach and going to church. Above all else, she enjoyed being with her family and took great pride in being a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard Parker (Jane), Nancy Parker Bean (George), Beth Parker Jordan (Jimmy) and Alan Parker (Tiffanie); brother, Walter Smith (Linda); grandchildren, Ginger Glover Caesar (Jeff Mattox), Greta Glover McAvoy (Emmanuel), Matthew Parker (Ingrid), Jordan Marie Parker, Andy Bean (Shanda) and Brandon Ussery (Abby); and ten great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Cecil Earl Parker; her brother, Marion Smith, and her sister, Joyce Smith Jennings.
A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Parker will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzehiemer’s Association in Mrs. Parker’s honor.
