Obituary of Clara Mae Tidwell

CASSATT- Funeral services for Clara Mae McCaskill Tidwell, 91, will be held Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Corder will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaverdam Baptist Church.

    Mrs. Tidwell, wife of the late Benjamin C. Tidwell, Jr., passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard R. McCaskill, Sr. and Marie Parker McCaskill. Mrs. Tidwell was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a loving mother who was always joyful and upbeat. She enjoyed playing all kind of games with her children and grandchildren, such as dominos, checkers, dice, volleyball and dodgeball. She also enjoyed growing flowers, reading and cooking.

    Surviving are her daughters, Vivian and Kent Rodgers of Cassatt, Annette and Rick Stancil of Concord, N.C., Ernestine and David Anderson of Cassatt, Marlene Cook of Concord, N.C., Pamela Williams of Cassatt; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Melanie June Tidwell; and siblings, Leonard McCaskill, Jr, Wesley McCaskill, and Sara Boykin.
