Obituary of Barbara Ann Johnson
Barbara grew up in Winnsboro, S.C. until she married William Johnson of Ridgeway. She is the daughter of the late James Gaddy and Gattis Nance Gaddy of Winnsboro.
As an active member of Sawney's Creek Baptist Church she participated in Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, WMU, and the Golden Hearts. She loved her church family, and she especially loved the lord. Decorating the church for special holidays, hosting family gatherings at the church, and even directing a few weddings were things she enjoyed. She was a great server, and she continued to serve until she was unable due to her illness. As an accomplished seamstress, and she sewed for many friends, and family members. She also worked at Charm Sewing cooperation as a seamstress and as a quality control inspector. She finished her working career at the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
Barbara also loved celebrating, shopping, and traveling. She could plan and attend any event with such excitement. She loved going on trips with the Friday Nite Live Group and she would proudly adorn any outfit that may be necessary for the occasion. Riding four wheelers was also a fun adventure.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sisters Joyce, Margie, Norma, and Jimmy Sue. She was also preceded by her brothers Gregory Lynn and David Gaddy. She is survived by her husband of 60 years William M. Johnson Jr. Also surviving are three brothers Pete Gaddy (Daisy), Ricky Gaddy (Kay), and James Gaddy; daughter, Joyce Branham (Jay), and son, William M. Johnson Ill (Shelia) and 5 grandchildren Kayla Williams (Cameron), Jason Branham (Emily), Alex Catoe, Tad Johnson, and Jaxon Johnson. She also has one special great granddaughter, MaryBeth. She has many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews all whom she loved so very much. You all had a special place in her heart, and she was blessed by you in so many ways.
We especially would like to thank The Heart of Hospice, and all who made so many visits, calls, and food on a regular basis. We would also like to thank Fairfield County Meals on Wheels. She was so blessed by your support. We would also like to mention all of those who remembered her in prayer for so many years.
A special thank you goes to Isa and Meranda who cared for mom with the best care one could ever give these last 2 plus years. You both are like family and mom just loved the extra special care you provided for her. Her face would light up with each day and you are the best.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sawney's Creek Baptist Church, the Heart of Hospice Home Care, or Fairfield County Meals on Wheels.
