Ed Jones Obituary

Elgin – Washington Edward Jones, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Born in Columbia, S.C., he was the son of the late George Fulton and Mattie Lee Sloan Jones. He served in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Jones retired from DuPont where he was an electrician/mechanic. He was a faithful member of Blaney Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon for many years.




Mr. Jones was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Tanya Jones Sawyers (Clay) of Stuart, V.A.; son, Ryan Edward Jones (Karen) of Leesburg, V.A.; sister, Bobbie Barfield (Chuck); and grandchildren, McCray Sawyers, Martin Sawyers, Sophia Jones, Devon Jones and Charlotte Jones. He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Jean Goff Jones.




A service to celebrate Mr. Jones' life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Blaney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.




In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, P.O. Box 305 Elgin, SC.
