Obituary of John Samuel Shannon

Camden – A memorial service for John Samuel Shannon, 26, will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Hunter Dease will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m.

    John passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024. Born in Gainesville, GA, he was a son of Robert Samuel Shannon, and the late Mary Lavonne Parr Shannon. John was an intelligent, big-hearted, outstanding person who loved life and enjoyed fishing. He was attending Sonrise Baptist Church.

    Surviving are his father, Robert Shannon of Camden; daughter, Kendell; brother, Trevor Cleaveland of GA; aunts, Barbara Bullock (Dennis), Patricia Hornsby (Phillip), Cindy Piper, Donna Ruark; uncles, Patrick Shannon, Erik Parr, and Chris Parr; special mom, Rebecca West; a special uncle, Wayne Felkins; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Pearl Parr, and his paternal grandparents Bobby and Peggy Shannon, and uncle David Parr.
