Obituary of Mark A. Moore
Camden – A service to celebrate the life of Mark Alison Moore, 61, will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Camden Ward. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5-7 p.m. at the church. Grave dedication and burial will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Centerville Cemetery, Ridgeway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the KC Humane Society or Hoof and Paw.
Mr. Moore passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center. Born in Columbia, S.C., he was the son of the late Levi Reginald Moore and Vicki Middleton Moore. Mark was devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Camden Ward where he has served as a youth leader and mentor for 16-18 youth and served as a Boy Scout Master. He was devoted to studying the Holy Scriptures. He served as a counselor in four Bishopbric, Stake Clerk, and Sunday school teacher.
Mark was known for having a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and being outdoors. He was a peacemaker and his love for mankind was even recognized in his passion and care for rescuing animals. He found peace in birdwatching and loved caring for his chickens and cats. Mark was a family man who was devoted to his wife, loved his kids and adored his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, Linda Franklin Moore; children, Brittni Kotara (Duane) of San Antonio, Texas, Michael Moore (Kelsea) of Austin, Texas, Matthew Moore (Marliesse) of Draper, Utah, and Ashlin Moore of Hartsville, S.C.; sisters, Michelle Moore of Columbia, Melissa Dille (Jack) of Little Mountain and Samantha Blease of Columbia; brothers, Michael Moore (Cari) of Columbia; grandchildren, Genavie Kotara, Aria Kotara, Chase Moore, Avari Kotara, Brendan Moore, Gwyneth Kotara, and Elena Moore; special friends, Bobby Radvansky, Tim Branham, Carl Reynolds, Foy Connell, Sterling Connell, Bob Connell, Joe Connell, Herb More and Joshua Chavis; Also left to cherish his memories are his nieces Kristen Pool, Jamie Minchew, Victoria Blease, Blaine Moore, Marianna Moore, Sarah Moore Marlena Moore, Elizabeth Yang (Xang) and Jordin Blease, his nephews Kyle Titus and Nicholas Hall, his dear Aunts Ellen Stroble, Cheryl Lynch and Elaine Middleton and his uncle Allen Middleton and numerous cousins whom Mark loved with all of his heart.
He was predeceased by a brother, Levi Reginald Moore, Jr.; and grandchildren, Jordan Kotara and Ayden Kotara.
