Sandy Michael Newman Obituary

Cassatt – Sandy Michael “Mike” Newman 74, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Born in Sumter, S.C. on October 28, 1949, he was the son of the late William Roland Newman, Sr. and Florence McDonald Newman.




Surviving is his loving wife of 31 years, Deborah Lynn Peebles Newman; children, Renae Newman, Becky Miller (Troy), Sherri Sellers, Mickey Sellers (Robyn), Richard Scott (Nikki); 11 grandchildren; a special young lady that he considered a granddaughter; a great grandson; brother, William Roland Newman, Jr.; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, David Wayne Newman and sister, Susan Enlow.




Services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, at 3:00 P.M. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow the service at Scotch Cemetery in Bethune. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at help.dav.org.
