Obituary of Janice Horton

Camden – A service to celebrate the life of Janice Dixon Horton, 75, will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Camden First Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship center.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camden First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Horton passed away at home surrounded by her family on Monday, October 21, 2024.  Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Mable Evans Dixon.  She retired from Kershaw County School District and was a member of Camden First Baptist Church. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, James Garth Horton; daughters, Shann Jones, Brandee Johnson (Mike) and Amanda Marturano (Brian); sister, Brenda Watts (Gerald); and grandchildren, Sarah Gurganus (Daniel), Tanner Jones, Joshua Brown (Keri), Avery Johnson, Cade Marturano, Owen Marturano; and one great-grandchild, Matthew Garth Brown.  She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Thurm; brothers, Hewey Dixon, Joe Dixon, Billy Dixon, and Dewey Dixon; and son-in-law, Blaine Jones.
