Obituary of Mary Jacqueline Powell

Ms. Mary Jacqueline Powell (Jackie) passed away in her home surrounded by her family, on Friday, October 18, 2024. Born in Camden, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jasper O. Dinkins and Idell Humphries Ray. Jackie enjoyed watching the Clemson Tigers play football, camping, watching her soap operas but above all else she enjoyed being with her grandchildren.  

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Robert Lee Powell; children, Mary Ann DeLong (Nate), Robert Otto Powell (Morgan), Jessica Cooper (Scott), Amy Nicole Powell, Erin Powell (Travis Pierson); 19 grandchildren, Briana Marie Logan (Cierra), Trevor Austin Jackson (Cailey Lynn ), James Michael Preston, Wesley James Jackson (Savanna), Blake Dennis DeLong, Asher Lee Lewis, Jax Zachary Wilson, Parker Beryl Wilson, Bella Faith Underwood, Shayne Landon Cooper, Alison Laine Cooper, Damon Jasper Sumner, Freya Everly Sumner, Major Matthew Sumner, Willow Storm Pierson, Luna Haisley, Lola Jaqueline, Walker Lee Peirson; and 6 great grandchildren, Benjamin Ecker, Naveah Logan, Soraya Logan, Xavier Logan, Talluah “LuLu” Jackson, Henry Jackson and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Stella Grace Pierson.  

A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Powell will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. With burial to follow in the Dinkins- Powell Home Place in Lugoff, SC.
