Obituary of Gladys Stockman Martin

Elgin – Graveside service for Gladys Stockman Martin, 86, will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.  The Rev. Daniel Griffin will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Mrs. Martin, wife of the late Bobby Eugene Martin, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Agape House of Lexington.  Born in Elgin, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Wylie Clinton and Melvina Branham Stockman.  She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Surviving are brother, Richard Stockman (Betty); companion, Joe Rudzinski; special friend, Greg Floyd.  She was predeceased by brother, Lewis Stockman (Patricia).

Rick and Betty have enjoyed spending time with Gladys and taking care of her for the past four years to allow her to remain in her home.  The family would like to thank RN Danielle Sauvion and CNA Valerie Payne-Hopkins and all of Agape Hospice for their great care in her time of need. Many thanks to her niece, Whitney Stockman Keegan (who was born on her 50th birthday) and great-niece, Averie “Bella” Keegan for helping take care of her.
