Obituary of Donald C. Leamon, Jr.

ELGIN- A funeral service for Donald Clarence Leamon, Jr., 77, will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ Center Church 4615 Platt Spring Road, West Columbia SC 29170.

    Mr. Leamon passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, he was a son of the late Donald Clarence Leamon, Sr. and Bonnie Mae Bryant Leamon. Mr. Leamon retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years. He was a member of Christ Center Church, West Columbia, and enjoyed baseball, basketball, football and Law and Order.

    Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Linda Ann Whitman Leamon; daughter, Janille Wiley of Lugoff; step-son, Jeffrey Crandal (Rose) of IN; grandchildren, Kayla Wiley, Samantha Dupree, Wesley Leamon; 4 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Velma Mae Leamon, Ronald Leamon and Connie Sue Robbs. He was predeceased by a son, Matthew Leamon; and a grandson, Joseph Talon Leamon.
