Obituary of Daryl Vernon Ellis

LUGOFF- A celebration of life service for Daryl Vernon Ellis, 82, will be held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Eric Boone will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4-6 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Farmer Veteran Coalition at PO Box 660675 Dallas TX 75266-.0675.

    Mr. Ellis passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024. Born in Cherryvale, KS, he was a son of the late Earl and Ruth Forrester Ellis. Mr. Ellis served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and retired from DuPont. He could often be found on his tractor farming or taking care of his cattle.

    Surviving are his wife, Alice C. Ellis; sons, Jimmy Ellis of Camden, Mitchell Ellis of Lugoff; daughter, Kimberly Ellis of Lugoff; step-son, David Edwards of Lugoff; siblings, Earlena Beden (Larry) of WA, Kenny “Ken” Ellis (Mary) of AZ, Elaine Bridenstine (Les) of MN Linda Blankenship (Terry) of KS, David Ellis of KS; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Annette Ellis.
