Thomas Wayne Shoemake Obituary

Thomas Wayne Shoemake, 57, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of Brenda Patricia Cook Shoemake Ortmann and the late James Beasley Shoemake. Mr. Shoemake enjoyed shooting pool, grilling, sports, motorcycles and the Dallas Cowboys.


Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Amanda Mills Shoemake; children, Kelsey Shoemake Sanders (Justin) of Elgin, SC and Joshua Adam Shoemake of Ohio; stepdaughter, Morgan Mills; grandchildren, Gauge Leevi Sanders and Nylah Elizabeth Kohn; mother, Brenda Ortmann (John); and sisters, Cynthia Shoemake Branham (Justin) and Tina Louise Clifford (Michael).


He was predeceased by his sisters, Cheryl Lynn Shoemake and Pamela Yvonne Shoemake.


A memorial service honoring the life of Mr. Shoemake will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Elgin Congregation Holiness Church in Elgin, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. The Rev. Warren Morris will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
