Camden – A memorial service for Clarence Odell Stokes, Sr., 83, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Stokes passed away Thursday, July 30, 2014. Born in Kershaw County, S.C., he was the son of the late David Kershaw and Annie Bell Smith Stokes, Sr. Mr. Stokes enjoyed working outdoors. Surviving are his daughter, Judy Newman; sons, Clarence “Chuck” Stokes, Jr., Timothy Stokes; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dr. David Stokes, Jr., William Stokes; and a sister, Molly Brown. He was predeceased by a brothers, Cecil Stokes, and Don Stokes; and sisters, Margret Brown and Annie Bell.
