LUGOFF – Mary Ruth Grose Richardson died July 29, 2014. She was born in Jacksboro, TN on August 6, 1923 to James W. and Emily Grose. Mary met and married her husband, Jesse, in 1942. Together they had four children: Carole Jean (Terry Allen); Mary Linda (Robert Carlton); Ruth Anne (John W. Moyer); and William R. (Leslie) Richardson; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Richardson was a devoted wife and mother. She tended to her double amputee husband for many years but always found the time to devote to her children too. She was a marvelous cook and loved to play bridge and backgammon, to read, and to watch Braves baseball. Mrs. Richardson will be missed by her many friends and relatives, all of whom share cherished memories of a very fine lady. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Patrick W Riddle, and the Rev. Dr. Dennis R. Bolton will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston, S.C. The family wishes to thank all the members of her care team from Agape Hospice who provided tender and loving care to her and support for her family in their mother’s final days. She left the thought of loveliness with those who knew her voice, and through some magic all her own made other hearts rejoice. She walked in paths of unsalted calm, untouched by hate or strife; She put the robe of love on all throughout her gracious life.
