Dalton Eric Hackworth Obituary

Bethune – Funeral Service for Fireman Dalton Eric Hackworth, USCG, 19, will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Malvern Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Craig Thompson and The Honorable Representative Ritchie Yow will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stop Soldier Suicide, P.O. Box 110605, Durham, NC 27709.




Dalton passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Born in Camden, he is the son of Jason Eric Hackworth and the late Kathleen Elizabeth Smith Hackworth. He graduated from Robert E. Lee Academy in Bishopville in 2023. He joined the United States Coast Guard and served in Ponce De Leon, FL and Georgetown, S.C. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and scuba diving.




Left to cherish his memory are his father, Jason Eric Hackworth (Jessica Price) of Bethune; sisters, Alexis Hackworth King (Fowler) and Melanie Jean Hackworth (Dalton); additional siblings, Brayden Norton, Triton Yates, Ridge Yates, Grayli Galloway, and Tanasia Himes; grandparents, Bobby and Carolyn Cochran (Nana Mama and Papa Bobby); uncle, John Allen Cochran.
