Obituary of Harvey Brigman Boykin
Camden – Funeral service for Harvey Brigman Boykin, Jr., 74, will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Piedmont Cemetery, Bishopville. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
Mr. Boykin passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. Born in Bishopville, he was the son of the late Harvey Brigman Boykin Sr. and Mary Boykin Carter. He retired from the United States Marine Corp as a Gunnery Sergeant with 22 years of service. Post Marine Corp, he continued his passion for fishing and entered a partnership in the boating industry. After which he became a property manager. Harvey enjoyed working, fishing, and riding motorcycles and was a former member of Trinity Motorcycle Club.
Left to cherish his wonderful memory are his wife of 18 years, Sandra Dean Varn Boykin; children, Brian S. Boykin (Jennifer) of Seneca, S.C., James Garrett Boykin (Ashley) of Daytona Beach, Fla., Sean Boykin of Haines City, FL., and Lisa Marie Blackwell of Camden; brothers, Fraser Boykin (Marsha); Lawerence Boykin; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; and a special brother-in-law, Mark Brazell.
