Obituary of Thomas H. Phillips

Thomas Henry Phillips, 90, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Born in Newberry, SC, on January 31, 1934, he was the son of the late Frank and Elvi Phillips. He married his wife, Dorothy Marie Barns Phillips in 1955. Mr. Phillips joined the United States Navy in 1961, he moved to Florence and became a recruiter for the Navy in 1965, and he retired after 22 years from the Navy. After retiring from the Navy, Mr. Phillips went on to work for New South as a Maintenance Supervisor, an HVAC technician for Camden Heating and Cooling, and doing refrigeration for Sears. He enjoyed fishing, racing, golfing and working on cars. 

Left to cherish his memories in addition to his wife is his children, Cindy Phillips, Steve Phillips and Missy Phillips (Justin) sister, Shirley Donaldson; grandchildren, Harry Peyton (Lauren), Scott Peyton (Marissa), Stevie Starns, Cody Phillips and Christy Walker (Eli); and a great-grandchild, Jedadiya Walker. He was predeceased by his daughter, Angie Peyton; nephews, Russell and David Donaldson; and uncles, Zeke and Raymond Keiser; and best friend, Murray David.
