Obituary of Lori Lynn Hanlon-Simon

CHARLOTTE- A celebration of life service for Lori Lynn Hanlon-Simon, 55, will be held July 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Pastor Shirley Lee-Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

    Lori, wife of the late, Timothy Simon, departed this life peacefully and went to spend eternity with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Born in Yreka, CA, she was a daughter of the late Milford Hanlon, Jr. and Carol Sue Cassady. Lori worked as a store manager for Michaels and enjoyed arts and crafts, shopping, scrapbooking, going to the beach, and making jewelry. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, but the things she held closest to her heart was being a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be dearly missed but always lovingly remembered by her family and friends.  

    Surviving are her daughter, Chantal Simons of Charlotte; Joshua Simons of Columbia; siblings, Batina Davis of Milwaukee, OR, Brenda Pleasant (Waymon) of Robeline, LA, Richard “Ricky” Bennett (Andria) of Robeline, La; a grandchild, Christian Simons; and 1 grandchild on the way, Skylar Simons. In addition to her mother and father, she was predeceased by her step-father, Wallace “Ray” Bennett, Jr.
