Obituary of Sarah Frances Munnerlyn

Sarah Frances Munnerlyn, 82, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Clinton, SC, on February 06, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Blease and Lizzie Ree Sims Griffin. She was a weaver for the Hermitage Cotton Mill for 19 years before retiring in 1992. She attended the House of Prayer with Open Arms Church in Kershaw, SC. Mrs. Munnerlyn enjoyed watching TV, going to church, and above all else spending as much time as she could with her family.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Judy Carol Coates of Cassatt, SC; sons, Roger Dale Ray (Mary) of Camden, SC, Johnny Blease Ray of Cassatt, SC, and Jimmy Lee Ray of Camden, SC; 7 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, George Munnerlyn; son, Gary Glenn Ray; brother, John Griffin; and sisters, Geraldine Peebles and Virgil Griffin.

A service to celebrate Mrs. Munnerlyn’s life will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at House of Prayer With Open Arms and burial to follow in Mt. Hebron Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Cassatt.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
