Obituary of John Kearns

CASSATT – A time of gathering to celebrate the life of John Charles Kearns, 59, will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. 

Mr. Kearns passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at MUSC Downtown.  Born in Albemarle, N.C., he was the son of the late Charles Leonard Kearns and Evelyn Marie Gary Jones.  He was employed with Prestage Farms. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting guns, skydiving and being outdoors.

Surviving are his wife, Tammy Lynn Helms Kearns; son, Jake Kearns of Richfield, N.C.; daughter, Elizabeth Kearns of Richfield, N.C.; step-children, Dennis Ivey, Julie Knight, Eula Mae Cauthen, Billy Knight and Crystal Ivey; sisters, Eva Marie Rich and Tracy White; brothers, Tony L. Jones and Jeff Jones; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
