Obituary of Charles Dewey Threatt, Jr.

CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of Charles Dewey Threatt Jr., 56, will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the Camden Shrine Club. Pastor Marvin Jones and Pastor Cotton Pate will officiate.  The family will receive friends following the service.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.

Mr. Threatt passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at MUSC Charleston surrounded by his family.  Born in Bishopville, he was the son of the late Charles Dewey Threatt Sr. and Annie Hall Threatt.  He served in the United States Army and served in Desert Storm.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 17 and the Wildlife Turkey Federation.  Mr. Threatt was an outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a NASCAR fan and loved working on cars.  He loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Melissa Ann Ray Threatt; mother, Annie Threatt of Cassatt; children, Charles Dewey Threatt III (Brandi) of Camden, Tony Allen Threatt of Camden, Samantha Ann Wert (Will) of Camden, and William Elijah Threatt of Camden; sister, Nicole Boykin (Kenneth) of Kershaw; brother, Thomas Threatt of Michigan; and 8 grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his father, Charles Dewey Threatt Sr.; and sister, Joyce Snyder.
