Obituary of Clara J. Owens

Clara Jane Owens, 67, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Born in Johnson City, TN, on March 30, 1957, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Sarah Mae Huff Owens. Mrs. Owens was employed with Pure Power Technologies of Blythewood, SC before retiring in 2017.  She was previously employed with Haier and while working there Mrs. Owens traveled with the company twice to China. She is a member of Camden First Baptist Church and also a member of the Sunday School Class there. Her most notable characteristic was her humor, she was always seeking to make someone laugh or brighten their day.

Mrs. Owens never met a stranger and always made a friend everywhere she went. She enjoyed crocheting, reading her Bible, listening to the gospel, and loved visiting the country and mountains.  She had a good heart and always sought to put others needs above her own, she was a good friend, sister and mother and will be deeply missed by those left behind.  

Left to cherish her memories is her son, Faron Lerue Hood, Jr. of Ridgeway, SC; brother, James H. Owens of Ridgeway, SC; sister, Gail Owens Boyte of Ridgeway, SC; fur-baby, Gracie-Mae; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Betsy A. Eddings.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  The Rev. Phillip Gerrald will officiate.  The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
