Barbara Ann Russell Obituary

Barbara Ann Russell, 75, of Elgin, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Born in Huntsville, AL, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Pauline Tucker and the wife of the late Parker Glover. Barbara was an avid bowler and the president of her bowling league. She loved to travel with her friends, especially up to Cherokee, NC to visit the casino. When her health allowed, she enjoyed going outside and walking, sometimes as much as 5 miles a day. She was a diehard USC Gamecock and Dallas Cowboys fan. Barbara also loved animals and was known to feed any stray cat that wandered by her house. She had a heart for children and served as a Preschool Teacher for the Lugoff First Baptist Children’s Ministry for many years. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.


Barbara is survived by her son, Michael Scott Russell (Carolyn); grandchildren, Timothy Justin Russell, Kristin Nicole Russell, and Taylor Michael Russell; and her sister, Janice Blankenship.


In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Tucker and Jackie Tucker.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, officiated by Rev. Greg Sweet.
