Obituary of Joseph Steven Satterfield

ELGIN – Joseph Steven Satterfield, 55, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.  Born in Anne Arundel, Md., he was the son of the late Henry Edward and Mary Lou Lewis Satterfield.  He was the general manager of First Vehicle Services for Richland County.  He enjoyed playing golf, working on cars, watching sports, especially FSU, but what he loved most was his family and being a “Pop Pop”.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Julia Shirey Satterfield; daughters, Nichole Satterfield Cox, Danielle Satterfield Newcomb (Aaron), and Samantha Satterfield Hooks (Kyle); adopted daughter, Megan Keesee Daughtry (Vic); sister, Jan Jones; brothers, Eddie Satterfield, Tony Satterfield, Jack Shirey and Jimmy Shirey; grandsons, Nicholas and Brantley; granddaughters, Marley and Macey; and many nieces and nephews that he loved.  He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Steven Satterfield, Jr.; brothers, James Satterfield, Henry Satterfield Jr. II, and Henry Edward Satterfield Jr. I; and grandson, Mitchell Steven Hooks.

The family will have a private service.  Memorials may be made to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Foundation.
