Obituary of Frankie W Holland
Frankie W. Holland, 77, of Camden, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Watkins, Jr. and the late Daisy Amerson Watkins. Frankie owned and operated Lakeside Marina on Lake Wateree in Camden for over 47 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends and taking trips to Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, NC. Frankie was an excellent judge of character and always spoke her mind. She loved her family and friends and will be remembered for her love of people and for her fried bologna sandwich, which was well known on the lake.
Frankie is survived by her sons, Lewis Holland, Jr. (Sheila) and Douglas Holland (DeDe Barr); grandchildren, Sophia Holland, Kasie Holland, and Kirk Holland, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Emilee Catoe, Heath Holland-Rankin, Troy Reep, Ryan Reep, and Lexie Reep; a great-great-grandchild, Haisley Thomas; siblings, Janie Stokes (Farrell), Donnie Watkins (Joyce), Robert Watkins (Brenda), and Robin Jordan (Eric); her special friends, Sue Price and Mary “Moochie” Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Frankie was preceded in death by her siblings, Agnes Watkins, Barbara Crowe, Georgia Barnes, Wayne Watkins, and Wade Watkins; and her granddaughter, Lindsey Holland.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
