Obituary of Linda McKenzie Brown

Linda McKenzie Brown, 68, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 10^th, 2024. Born in Camden, South Carolina, on September 23^rd, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Suzanne Miller McKenzie. Ms. Brown was a strong woman who enjoyed cross-stitching, diamond painting, cooking, and admiring the moon. She loved being a mom, but her grandchildren gave her the most joy. Ms. Brown was a Christian- a God fearing, angel loving, woman who knew she was going home to be with the Lord. Always up for a laugh, she found humor where most couldn’t. “Cutting the fool” was common with Ms. Brown, which elevated those around her.

She is survived by her son, Jared “Bart” Brown (Priscilla) of Pinehurst, North Carolina; daughter, Brittany Marie Brown of Camden, South Carolina; stepson, Taylor Watts of Camden; sisters, Barbara Ann Lyles (Glenn) of Camden, and Robin Eddings (Kent) of Camden; grandchildren, Logan Brown, Landon Hinson, Trenton Brown, McKenzie Brown, and Gavin Hinson.

A service to celebrate Ms. Brown’s life will be held on Thursday, February 15^th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
