Obituary of Peter Sturgis Cestari

Peter S. "Pete" Cestari, 61, passed away on January 30, 2024, in Ridgeway (Lake Wateree). Born on March 5, 1962, in Hammond, IN, Pete had the blessing of being the cherished adopted son of Vincenzo Mario "Vince" Cestari and Alice Piper Cestari, both of whom predeceased him.

Pete loved Jesus and was an active and committed member of New Hope Church, always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he dedicated himself to their well-being, with a servant-hearted attitude in both their everyday moments and their challenges. When asked what his favorite activities were, he often responded with “anything with my wife”. He took great joy in bringing smiles and laughter to his cherished granddaughter, as well as his great-nephews and nieces. He had a passion for life, enjoying boating on the lake, playing his guitar, motorcycle riding, and playing pickleball.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Cindy, his step-son Alex (Karen), granddaughter Kaley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Pete's life will be held at 2 pm on February 10th at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 9025 Liberty Hill Road, Camden, SC 29020. Rather than flowers, contributions in memory of Pete can be made to New Hope Church, as a tribute to his life and faith.
