Obituary of Dale L. Kennington

LUGOFF- Dale L. Kennington, 75, passed away on January 31, 2024 peacefully at home. Born on November 22, 1948 in Lee County, he was the son of the late Thomas Boykin Kennington and Jumelle McGee Kennington. He worked with his father T.B. Kennington at the old Sunoco gas station that was once located in downtown Camden. He enjoyed playing cards, reading the bible, watching westerns, talking about old cars and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta Kennington of Lugoff; children, Melissa Kennington Buhrman (Darrin) of Elgin, David Paul Kennington (Brittany) of Lugoff; sister, Debra Kennington Boan of Lugoff; 3 grandchildren, Branigan Rion Cherry, Adalyn Grace Kennington and Daniel Kennington.

He was predeceased by a son, Thomas William Kennington; brothers, Glenwood Kennington and Thomas Kennington; and sisters, Linda Young and Denise Shirley.

A Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home with a burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Camden, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Life Christian Outreach Church in Lugoff, SC.
