Obituary of Amber Xaviera Crooks

Amber Xaviera Crooks, 27, of Elgin, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of Dale and Laura Hewitt. Amber was a 2014 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School and was currently attending Winthrop University. She worked as a Stylist and had a passion for Cosmetology. She also enjoyed reading and helping others. Amber had a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Amber is survived by her siblings, Alexis Crooks, Candice Hewitt, Caitie Hewitt, Joey Hewitt, and Savannah Hewitt; her nephew, Elijah Holland; cousins, Taylor and Krissy Russell; aunts, Tanya Reynolds and Mary Barnes; her uncle, Mike Reynolds; and grandparents, Doris and Rick Whitley and Hazel Lee.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm.
