Obituary of James Edward Woods, Jr.

SUMTER – Services for James Edward Woods, Jr., 58, will be private.

Mr. Woods passed away on January 15, 2024.  Born in Kershaw County, he attended Kershaw COunty public schools. He was the son of James Woods Sr. and the late Elizabeth Johnson Woods. He enjoyed life spending time with friends, being a jokester and always having fun being the life of the party.  He was always helping others.

Surviving are his daughter, Sheneice Belton of Florida; father, James Woods of Camden; sisters, Jeannie Drakeford (Eugene) of Columbia, S.C., Barbara Galarza (Angel Miguel) of Camden, S.C., and Millicent Reed of Lugoff, S.C.; grandchildren, Damere Holiday of Columbia, S.C., DaRon Holiday of Florida and Devin Holiday of Florida; one niece; five nephews; 3 great-nieces and 2 great nephews; and a host of aunties and uncles.  He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Roosevelt Reed of Camden, S.C..

Uncle Edward loved to have fun and would tell it like was. He always said, “Don’t paint a picture of me, I’m Black and White” and always said Love Ya’ll!  From your nieces and nephews, Uncle you will be missed!
